Top-latch handle opens from outside, is hinged at the bottom. Slider-style lower safety-glass panel allows screened ventilation with the window in the upright-closed position. These windows feature an intricate hinge system, and an aluminum frame with bars (called a cage or face guard) on the inside, that opens & closes separately, but can remain up when the window portion is "dropped down", for optimum ventilation and the horse's protection. This product's face cage has 4 vertical bars and one horizontal bar that contains a lanyard for opening & closing featuring a pull & release system with plastic slam bolts on the sides.
* Heavy all-aluminum frame, in black
* Flush mount latch, locking w/ key
* Automotive rubber seal around the outer window and the frame
* Drop-down protective aluminum cage, operated from the outside.
*All windows are black frame with tinted "smoke" colored safety glass.
*windows install with interior aluminum clamp ring, bought according to the thickness of your trailer wall.
**These windows may not match the style of your trailer's existing windows, due to the fact that some window manufacturers have gone out of business since your trailer was manufactured. Please look carefully to be sure the SHAPE of the window is a match.
*The radius of the corners is 3.305 inches. 90 degree radius. All window measurements are the rough hole opening measurement.
If you are measuring the window frame, both height & width should measure 1/1/4" larger than the rough hole opening.
The windows shown installed on this Circle J trailer shown are the basic model of window that we are offering for sale, except the windows are now solid black aluminum across the top where the latch is. Pictured are the 24"W X 20"T size in 3 different positions, shown from the interior & exterior.
***CLAMP
RING: window purchase DOES NOT INCLUDE inner mill
finish aluminum trim piece (clamp ring), a $20.00 value. If you are
replacing an exact duplicate window, your existing clamp ring should
work. The window goes in the hole from the outside. On the back of the
window, there is a GROOVE RUNNING ALL THE WAY AROUND THE WINDOW. The
clamp ring goes in from the inside, fits against the back of the window
& the clamp ring frame rests on the trailer wall, closing all gaps.
There are small holes all around the clamp ring, and you use small
screws to screw through the clamp ring holes & INTO the groove on
the back of the window. This is what holds the window tight to the
trailer wall without putting fasteners into the outside frame. When
choosing a new clamp ring, we ask you to measure the THE THICKNESS OF
THE WALL OF THE TRAILER, not the thickness of the window, or how far it
sticks out inside the trailer. THE CHOICES ARE: 1/8" wall (the window is
installed into the "skin" of the trailer). OR: 1 1/2" wall: the trailer
wall is insulated, or has a smooth, flat finish on the inside. Call us
if you have something different & we will try to accommodate you.
*You
will need 14 to 18 #8 or #10 X 3/8" sheet metal screws for installation
with a properly-sized clamp ring. We think you should re-use the screws
you remove from the original window, if possible, because they are
already perfect size for your application. 14 screws for the 24X20
windows, 18 screws for the 30X20 or 30X24 windows
