Ball & Socket Aluminum Door Hold Back (choose from 4 sizes) WITH BLACK E-COAT
Two cast aluminum pieces. SUPER VERSATILE because you can change up the position of the arm in so many ways by installing the ball & socket bracket side vertical for a 180 degree arm radius (for trailer doors) or flat for the arm to hold steady in a slot for many other industry applications.
The "snap/catch" side attaches to the wall of the trailer on a bracket with 4 holes. The "arms" hangs from a door-side bracket (w/2 holes) when not in use. Two hands are needed to snap the arm into the catch bracket. Also, two hands are needed to hold the catch open in order to release the arm. This door holder cannot disengage unless it is manually released, even if it is bumped or pulled.
In cast-aluminum with BLACK E Coat: Black E-Coat is an electrically applied paint coating. It
is used as either a decorative or protective coating that enhances the
appearance of parts while also protecting the surface of parts.
The 2" Ball & Socket arm will hold the door 3 1/2" away from the trailer wall.
The 4" Ball & Socket arm will hold the door 5 1/2" away from the trailer wall.
The 6" Ball & Socket arm will hold the door 7 1/2" away from the trailer wall.
The 10" Ball & Socket arm will hold the door 11 1/2" away from the trailer wall.
*Use six #12 black screws to fasten the Ball & Socket Door Hold Back: SMS12X1PBLACK
*door side (arm) bracket holes: 2 7/16" vertical screw centers
*trailer side (latch) bracket holes: 13/16" vertical, 1 5/16" horizontal screw centers
Trail Pals tip: For convenience and versatility, this type of door hold back can be installed in addition to the type of door hold backs sold above that engage & disengage with "no hands", on the same door. You might use one everyday & additionally engage the other on a windy day.
The "arm" side that installs on the trailer door can also be installed so it fastens into the catch from the side, although it's slightly harder to disengage it.
