Molded of hard rubber, hollow in the middle, 96' in length & 3" in height. Height measurement is the flat back where it is fastened to the trailer. These bumpers are hollow, and can be cut with a saw. They can  be drilled with a custom pattern of bolt holes to match the pattern on your existing trailer bumper (do it yourself). The holes are traditionally drilled through the front, but installed recessed on the inside.

Aluminum Two-Way Roof Vent, LOW PROFILE   HARD-TO-FIND!

Two-way vents can be opened either backwards (in case of rain or to vent heat out of the trailer) or forward (to scoop air into the trailer for ventilation). They also shut beautifully & don't leak.

This vent is designed to replace the roof vents on older horse trailers where the dimensions of the existing hole match better. They are usually placed away from the heads & bodies of horses, such as one vent between the horses' head space and forward in a two horse-straight load trailer.

This LOW PROFILE roof vent has also been installed on the SIDES of all types of trailers transporting animals (alpacas, llamas, elk, deer, sheep, turkeys, chickens,mink, etc.) for more ventilation. Remember, they generally operate from the inside, but can be manually closed from the outside.  The handles protrude almost 3" on the inside of the trailer. The closed lid protrudes  3/4" on the exterior when shut, and 2 1/4" when open in either position.

We have upgraded our roof vents we offer you the best & safest roof vents for animals on the market today! The 3 metal interior blades that were a danger to animals are now eliminated--much safer for your animals, in case of impact.  The interior handle with which to position the vent lid is fastened on much more securely and it is easier to grasp. It has a ergonomic grip -one squeeze of the handle relieves the sealing force for simple opening in either direction. In addition, there is a full-size neoprene gasket in the lid to prevent leaks. Comes with 10 pre-drilled holes for mounting.

We recommend installing a closed-cell gasket made specifically for this roof vent to prevent leaking. These gaskets also make a great template for cutting a perfect hole in the trailer roof.

1 inch thick high-density foam pad cut to fit around the perimeter of your bar. You will fasten it on with duct tape or zip ties (not included & your choice).

A vinyl cover that will be custom sewn to the circumference measurement that you provide (8" circumference is the largest without extra charge ) and the length measurement you choose from the choices below. This cover will have 1 inch of covering that overlaps on the ends, with nylon strings installed that can be hand-gathered and tied to hide the edges of the foam. It keeps the pad cleaner & looks more professional.

Measure carefully--the Velcro fastener strip overlaps 2", so there is only a little room for adjustment at the bottom.

Trailer "Butt" Chains

These are the best, strongest and most comfortable trailer replacement chains we can find. Both sizes have  4 1/2" of 1/8" chain on each end of a flexible steel cable covered by 1" thick black rubber. Comfortable for the horse & easy to clean for you!

Trailer "butt" chains are necessary for two reasons: 

They serve as a barrier so the horse cannot exit the trailer when the rear doors are opened. 

They save the rear doors on the trailer from warping when a horse rides with his weight to the rear when trailering. 

Recommended hardware for completely replacing trailer chains include:

1 flush mount D-ring attached to the  trailer wall

2 "quick links" at either side of the trailer chain

1 heavy safety snap or "S" hook to attach the chain to the middle divider

1 weld-on clip or screw-on eyebolt attached to the TOP of the middle divider (where the snap end of the chain attaches)

*Measure the straight distance across the stall in the trailer, then slack the chain a little. The shortest animal should not be able to get his back under the chain. On a horse, the chain should naturally set about 1/2 way between the hock and top of the tail. The horse should be able to feel the barrier when he puts pressure on it, then he should move forward & the chain should slack at rest. The barrier is adjusted correctly when the horse cannot lean back on the trailer doors when trailering.
