many cases, a hitch pin can be replaced with a

5/8"
Diameter
Hitch Pin (standard) |
 |
Used to fasten the
ball mount into the receiver tube on the truck
hitch. Large keeper clip fits over the groove on the
end to secure it. Polished steel. *These
days (when
most ball mounts are locked on) it comes in handy to
still have a standard hitch pin & clip around
if you need to trade out your coupler with another
OR in case the locking end falls off your locking
hitch pin.

Large Keeper Clip for Hitch Pin |
 |
This 3 1/4"
long hairpin keeper clip
fits over the groove on the end of the 5/8" or
1/2" hitch pin to
secure it. In other models, it may fit through
a small hole at the end of the hitch pin. It is
sometimes also used to secure
the sliding coupler latch handle so it won't slip off the ball when
connected. It is the largest of the keeper
clips. To attach
to trailer, see the lanyards sold on the
hitch pin page. |

Lynch
Pin, 5/8"
|
|

|
Lynch pins have various uses, but on a
horse trailer, they secure the rear doors of trailers
that have a hasp & cam bar method of closure.
We have tested & chosen this size: a
strong 5/8" diameter pin that snaps against the 1
7/8" diameter steel ring, and holds the cam bar hasp
closed & secure.
Don't take a chance & haul your
animals without first securing the hasp with a pin!
To attach to trailer, see the
lanyards sold below. |

These work great for forgetful folks,
especially because it is dangerous to not use your
safety pins. |
Prevent Loss of Your Assorted
Trailer Pins!
This simple addition to your
Lynch Pins that close the hasp on your rear
trailer doors can save a horse from falling out on
the highway ---you will never misplace your lynch
pins again.
Also used to secure Coupler
Pins to the trailer so you never lose them
again.
We suggest securing one end to the
trailer by removing an existing nearby screw &
replacing it with one cable end beneath it. Or, one
or both ends can be attached to the pin or somewhere
on the trailer with a spare
keychain ring. Made of
stainless-steel multi-strand aircraft cable,
fastened with clamps that make loops at both ends
