Tie
Ring, Aluminum w/ 4" Bolt Centers |
 |
Strong
tie ring made of cast aluminum, it has a bright, shiny
chrome finish that eliminates any reaction from unlike
metals. 1/2" diameter material, 2.25" tall.
4" bolt centers.
Trail Pals tip: These tie rings
are strong, but aluminum is naturally brittle. They can
break if tightened down too much during installation.
We've kept them inexpensive, so you can order an extra
one to have around, just in case!

D-Ring, Surface Mount w/ Hard Plastic Collar
|
.JPG)
Not
recommended for tying horses! |
Flush mount, two pieces. The black
plastic collar supports the metal portion so that the ring
is indented. Good for fastening butt or breast bars (wall
mount) because when the chain is unsnapped, the horse can slide by it without injury. The
two vertical bolt centers are
15/16" apart. Plastic collar is 4
1/8" across. 1,200 breaking strength.
Not recommended for tying horses, but
we've seen it on the outside of trailers (perhaps for
hanging feed bags?) and there is a
slot in the plastic collar for a water drain. Used in utility trailers as a
floor-mount tie down or in trailers used for both off road vehicle
use & horse hauling.
