Tie
Ring, w/ 4" Bolt Centers- in
Aluminum
|

Specially chosen
for the beautiful bright, shiny finish. |
Tie Ring, w/ 4" Bolt Centers in Aluminum
These tie rings are made of solid
aluminum. Both have a bright, shiny finish that eliminates any reaction from unlike
metals.
1/2" diameter material, 2.25"
tall w/
4" bolt centers.
Trail Pals tip: These tie rings
are strong, but they can
crack if tightened down too much during installation.
They are designed to break under extreme pressure from a
horse pulling back while tied to it, so they will break
before pulling a hole in your trailer.
Mounting hardware sold below.

NEW! Tie Ring
Mounting Hardware - in Stainless Steel |

This stainless steel mounting hardware is
expensive & hard to find, but it lasts!
.JPG)
It will look
like this on the outside and these mounting
kits can be used over & over again to
re-mount replacement tie rings, using only
two simple tools--a Phillips Head & a Flat
Head screwdriver. |
Tie Ring Mounting
Hardware
We recommend that these
tie rings be installed with stainless steel
hardware, on both aluminum & steel trailers.
The aluminum tie ring is designed to break in an
accident before it pulls a hole in your
expensive trailer. This mounting hardware we
have put together should be able to be
re-used to mount a replacement tie
ring, instead of starting all over
with new hardware and a trip to the hardware
store. There
are no sharp edges on either side.
Use a
3/8" drill bit for the exterior hole
where the truss bolt installs, and a 7/32"
drill bit for the interior hole where the
machine screw & washer install. The Truss Head goes through
the mounting holes on the tie ring, and the screw & washer
adjust from the inside of the trailer.
Adjusts for 1 1/4" to 1" thick walls.
**You will receive
two Stainless Steel Threaded
Truss Bolts, two Stainless Steel Machine Screws & two Stainless Steel 1
1/4" washers in each order (enough to
mount ONE tie ring).

Cushioned
Wall Fastener, 1/2" |

(fix2).JPG)
example of how these two
parts fit together as a wall fastener |
Cushioned Wall
Fastener, 1/2"
Not a "D" Ring, but commonly used on aluminum & steel horse
trailers in light applications to hold steel
rings and double-ended snaps for corner
feedbags, window screens and for holding
trailer dividers in a open position (paired
with a snap & lanyard). The
remarkable thing is that it uses only one
screw or rivet, so there are less holes in
your trailer. The metal portion is steel,
with a non-corrosive zinc finish. The liner
is neoprene. When closed, the inside opening
is shaped like a teardrop, with a vertical
measurement of 1/2".
Install with #10 sheet metal or TEK
screw, sold on the Fastener page.
Snaps also sold on the fastener page, lanyards are at
the bottom of the Hitch Pins
page.

D-Ring, Surface Mount w/ Hard Plastic Collar
|
.JPG)
Not
recommended for tying horses. |
Flush mount, two pieces. The black
plastic collar supports the metal portion so that the ring
is indented. Good for fastening butt or breast bars (wall
mount) because when the chain is unsnapped, the horse can slide by it without injury. The
two vertical bolt centers are
15/16" apart. Plastic collar is 4
1/8" across. 1,200 breaking strength.
Not recommended for tying horses, but
we've seen it on the outside of trailers (perhaps for
hanging feed bags?) and there is a
slot in the plastic collar for a water drain. Used in utility trailers as a
floor-mount tie down or in trailers used for both off road vehicle
use & horse hauling.

1/8" (across) anti-rattle hard plastic collar.
Good for fastening butt or breast bars (vertical wall
mount) because when the chain is unsnapped, the horse can slide by it without injury. Fastens with ONE screw or carriage bolt. Breaking strength is
1,500 lbs.
Used in utility trailers as a floor-mount tie down
or in trailers used for both off -road vehicle use &
horse hauling.
